Costieres de Nimes

Though not officially in the Rhone (it is actually in the eastern part of the Languedoc), it shares the same make-up of soil, climate and grape varieties – Grenache, Syrah and Carignan.  It received full AC status in 1986 and, along with many wines from the Eastern Languedoc, is now often thought of as the “New World of France”.

Domaine Georges Darraud

Based in the Southern Rhone, with its Mediterranean climate tempered by the Mistral wind to help dry the vines canopy.  The main 3 grape varieties Georges Darraud uses - Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre - prosper in these tough conditions.
