Founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians Theodor Wiese & Dankert Krohn and though the Company still retains its original name it is now one of the few Port Houses that is owned exclusively by a Portuguese Family.
Their Estate the Quinta do Retiro is situated in Rio Torto Valley one of the best areas in the Douro Valley and it is from this area that they source their Vintage, Colheitas and Late Bottled Vintage. The remainder of their requirements are bought from the same growers every year so that their quality is always consistently high.
Half bottles are available as well as many older Vintages and Colheitas
